Twitter Users Ponder Scams That Have Become So Normalised People Don’t Even Notice Them Anymore

Like the great man said: ‘The table is tilted folks. The game is rigged, and nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care.’ I don’t know about you, but the older I get, the more tired I am with seeing the multifarious ways that the world is set up in favour of the powerful few and against everyone else. I used to burn with a white-hot incandescence at the injustice of it all.

Those first years of teenage discovery and eye-opening generated enough rage to power me through probably the rest of my life, and each successive bit of info afterward just added fuel to the fire. These days, though, sometimes it feels as if I’m almost more ground down than animated by it all. That’s not to say I ever intend to give up fighting back, in whatever way I can at the moment I happen to find myself in life—especially because it would be a huge and selfish dereliction of duty considering the relative bounty of resources I have at my disposal compared to many of the least fortunate—but, man, is it just fu**ing tiring sometimes. Occasionally all you can think of doing is saying, ‘Fu*k it!’ and going for a drink. It sucks. Nevertheless, even in those weaker, more exhausted moments, I never get tired of seeing the bullsh*t system we live under described in different ways.
