On social media over the weekend, REA Energy Cooperative Inc. said it “has received notice of a person impersonating an electric company’s employee asking to see people’s utility bills.”
It prompted REA to remind its customers that “REA Energy employees do not ask to see a member’s bills in the field. Cooperative members are asked to not provide any personal information if they receive such a visit, and ask to see cooperative identification, which all REA Energy employees carry.”
