Ponzi Schemes: AIM Global Team Leaders Arrested in Soroti

Police in Soroti City yesterday arrested 20 team leaders of the AIM Global Alliance, a ponzi scheme that has been duping youths, promising them jobs with huge fringe benefits.

The AIM global leaders had invited a number of youths from Teso and other districts within the region for a training at Hyde Park in Soroti City East on 30th June 2022 but the meeting was short lived as a security team stormed the venue and arrested the leaders.

Smartly dressed in their suits, as usual, the team leaders were whisked off to Soroti City East for integration, following a public outcry over the fraudulent company.

Benesa Edwin, the deputy Resident City Commissioner Soroti city east said they have been conducting a serious investigation to ascertain the nature of this “unscrupulous” company and it was discovered that they are individuals that have been coning  money from the public, charging each new member about nine hundred thousand shillings (Shs 900,000) to join them.

He said the team had been parading with nice suits deceiving people that they have jobs but instead end up collecting a lot of money from people in the name of employing them.
