Fraud, North Carpenter Road
A woman reported being contacted by an unknown person claiming to work for the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office Oct. 4. The caller stated the woman had an active warrant for her arrest and was instructed to send $3,000 dollars via various gift cards. The woman did so and was then asked to pay more. Realizing the call was a scam, the woman called police. There was no further information available at the time of the report.
Dog bite, Mulberry Lane
A woman reported her dog was attacked by another dog while walking on Mulberry Lane Oct. 4. The woman said the other dog jumped over a fence from that residence and charged at them, biting the woman on the hand and injuring her dog’s paw. The owner of the dog was cited for animals running at large.
Impaired driver, Pearl Road
Police stopped a driver at 11:20 p.m. Oct. 2 and the driver reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol. He showed signs of impairment on field sobriety tests and was arrested. He refused to submit to a breath test and was later released.
Fraud
A woman reported an unknown person accessed her bank checking account and credit card information some time between Sept. 22 and Oct. 7. Police had no suspects or any further information at the time of the report.
