THE Philippine Post Office (PhilPost) warned the public on Monday against individuals offering assistance in the processing of postal identification cards through social media.
In its advisory, the PhilPost said a Facebook page has been posing as a postal ID assistance page.
“We have received complaints from customers on alleged bogus emails, texts, and calls from unauthorized persons that they will assist in expediting the processing and claims of postal IDs,” it said.
PhilPost said that it will never call, text or email its customers for personal or financial information including password, credit card details or account information; request payment through call or text; nor ask its customers to click an email link to print off a label to redeem a postal ID or other services such as mails or packages.
It further warned its customers that “online attackers” may attempt to gain their personal or financial information or exploit them for financial gain.
