Northport Police Blotter: 2 Drunken Drivers Arrested

NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from June 13 through June 19.

The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Lisa Formato, 45, of Northport, was involved in a car crash on Fort Salonga Road around 7:15 p.m. on June 19, police said. Formato had pin-point, bloodshot and glassy eyes, slurred speech, and her breath smelled of alcohol, police said. She performed poorly on several field sobriety
    tests, police said. Formato was brought to Huntington Hospital to be treated after she took unknown drug substances, police said. Formato was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and operate motor vehicle by unlicensed driver.
  • David Liegey, 55, of Greenlawn, was driving a 2019 GMC Canyon when he crossed over the white shoulder markings several times while traveling westbound on Fort Salonga Road around 7:40 p.m. June 19, police said. He was stopped at Fort Salonga Road and Stony Hollow Road, police said. Liegey’s breath smelled of alcohol, his eyes were glassy and bloodshot, his speech was slurred and thick, he was very unsteady on his feet and he performed poorly on several standardized field sobriety tests, police said. Liegey was arrested and charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated.
