A Grove Street resident reported on April 14 that they were scammed into buying $600 worth of Google Play gift cards after getting a text message from an unidentified person.
ATTEMPTED TEXT MESSAGE SCAM
On April 20, a South Avenue resident called police to report someone had sent them a suspicious text message soliciting $1,000. The resident did not pay any money.

A Mortimer Road resident reported on the morning of April 25 that someone used their identity to fraudulently apply for a loan.

An Old Willow Road resident reported on the afternoon of April 12 that someone had used their identity to open an unauthorized credit card account in December 2021. About $500 to $600 of purchases were later charged to the card.
