Friends and confidants of missing conwoman Melissa Caddick have come out in their dozens to admit they were scammed out of a small fortune.
Now, for the first time, her own parents have admitted they, too, were deceived.
Caddick, 49, disappeared in November 2020 only hours after the corporate watchdog, ASIC, raided her home.

To this day, the only remains recovered was her decomposing foot in a shoe, which washed up on a beach more than 400km away from her Sydney home.
A series of Federal Court hearings has revealed Caddick stole $23 million from friends and family through a convoluted Ponzi scheme.
Earlier this week, documents filed to the court state that she “dishonestly and fraudulently” took more than $1 million from her own parents, Barbara and Ted Grimley.
The documents said Caddick acquired that money under the guise of giving her parents a 37 per cent ownership in her Edgecliff penthouse.
“From around 2012, Melissa was living in the eastern suburbs of Sydney,” the affidavit says.
“From around that time, Melissa encouraged Barbara and Ted to relocate from Connells Point to the eastern suburbs of Sydney, to be closer to Melissa, her husband and son.
