Melissa Caddick inquest date announced as parents admit they were fleeced

The new podcast Liar Liar: Melissa Caddick and the Missing Millions revealed this week that the Grimleys’ money was squandered by their daughter on a $590,000 diamond ring, private jets in Aspen and other lifestyle expenses.

Caddick, 49, disappeared in November 2020, hours after her house was raided by the corporate regulator, ASIC. Her partial remains washed up in her running shoe at a remote beach 400 kilometres south of Sydney in February 2021. The inquest into her presumed death will commence at the Coroner’s Court on 12 September.

Meanwhile, the attempt by the receivers to sell the properties to return funds to investors has also been stymied by fresh legal action launched by Caddick’s husband, Anthony Kolleti, 39.

Koletti is staking a claim over his wife’s assets, including part of any proceeds from the sale of her Dover Heights home, according to an affidavit filed by the solicitor for the receivers, Michael Hayter, from Swaab lawyers.

Mr Hayter has sought an order from the court asking that Koletti “be restrained” from this course of action. Earlier court documents show that Koletti, a hairdresser, is yet to show the receivers any financial contributions he made to acquire the Dover Heights home which was purchased by his wife for $6.2 million in 2014.
