The Supreme Court judge said that it took more that four months for him to obtain reimbursement for such payments he made.
“We wanted to have an open court in the form of VC. Things were difficult. We had to pay subscription for Zoom in US dollars. State govt rules did not permit us to make payments. Judges, registry staff paid with their own credit cards for the subscriptions. It took me 4 months to get reimbursement. We started e-courts in district courts, high court, e-filing which was primitive,” Justice Oka said.
The judge was speaking as the chief guest at a lecture on The Role of Technology in Courts in Mumbai.
