Images of Baker McKenzie partners stolen for Porsche IPO fraud

The chief executive of TF Equities is Thorsten Frank, a fake persona created using an image of Thomas Gillies, a Baker McKenzie merger and acquisitions partner based in Hamburg, Germany.

The chief financial officer is Terry Kwong Hang Fok, another fake name attached to a stolen profile picture of Taipei-based dispute resolutions partner Chien-Hung Lai, while chief investment officer Bobby Yiu Keung Ho is taken from the profile of global tax practice associate Sukbae David Gong, who is based in Chicago.

All four images were taken from the Baker McKenzie website without their knowledge and its employees are not associated with the fraud.

“We are working to remove the images of our partners, which have been used to falsely represent management of this scam investment company on their website,” a Baker McKenzie spokesman said.

The syndicate has stolen the ABNs of a business associated with former Queensland Reds Super Rugby player Aidan Toua and his family.

The criminals set up the fake equities website using the details he registered with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission for a company called TFE Consultancy.

Fraudulent TF Equities, which has been set up to appear as if it has offices in Switzerland, Hong Kong and Perth, lists an ABN associated with a TFE Consultancy.
