Scamster dupes Porvorim dentist

PORVORIM: A reputed dentist from Porvorim was duped of Rs 2.85 lakh through online scam.
As per information from Porvorim police, Dr Geeta Kerkar from Housing Board received a call from an unknown person claiming to be a military officer on August 22. He also asked for bank details to make payment for treating his staff. Later, a link was also sent to the dentist. Upon clicking on the link, money was transferred from her bank.
Dr Kerkar filed a complaint on December 30, against an unknown person. An FIR has been registered under IPC Section 419 and 420. PI Anant Gaonkar and PSI Pratik Bhat Prabhu are probing the case.
