The scam email was received by a Staffordshire Live reader, from Stapenhill, who does not even have a Netflix account.

She said: “The scams are doing the rounds again. I am always getting Amazon and PayPal, but this is a new one on me. Bearing in mind, I don’t have a Netflix account.”

The email starts with a warning across the top saying ‘This account is suspended’ and has branding similar to the Netflix logo.

“To avoid service disruption, go to the Netflix profile to complete the simple authentication process and pay your outstanding balance. Automatic payments will resume after you’ve completed the authentication.
