In August last year, the CBI also raided 27 locations, including an under-construction mall in Gurugram allegedly linked to Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. The federal probe agency also raided the premises of several RJD leaders, including MLC Sunil Singh, Rajya Sabha MPs Ashfaq Karim and Faiyaz Ahmed, and former MLC Subodh Rai.
As per the news agency IANS, over 200 sale deeds were recovered by the central probe agency during raids in August last year. In October, 2022, the CBI filed a charge-sheet against Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, his daughter Misa Bharti, former general manager of Central Railways Sowmya Raghvan, former CPO Railways Kamal Deep Mainrai, seven aspirants appointed as substitutes and four private individuals.
It was also alleged that several Patna residents sold and gifted their land in the Bihar capital Patna to the family members of Lalu Yadav and a private company controlled by the RJD supremo and his family. The RJD chief served as the railways minister from 2004-09.
