BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – Officials would like to warn Bradenton residents of an ongoing scam meant to steal money from unassuming individuals.
The Bradenton Police Department posted on their social media accounts today alerting the public of spoofed phone numbers from their department. When answered, the callers demand money be transferred to them or face arrest. Bradenton police say law enforcement will never demand money to avoid an arrest.
Funds should never be transferred or wired to anyone unless the requester can be confirmed as legitimate.
