Boris Becker’s daughter thanks fans for support after he is jailed

he daughter of Boris Becker has thanked fans for their support after he was jailed following a bankruptcy scam.

The six-times Grand Slam winner, who earned £35m during his illustrious tennis career, was jailed for 30 months on Friday after a jury found that he hid millions of pounds’ worth of assets to avoid paying his debts.

The 54-year-old was declared bankrupt in June 2017 over an unpaid loan of more than £3m on his estate in Mallorca, Spain.

German-born Becker, who has lived in the UK since 2012, was convicted of four charges under the Insolvency Act.

These included failing to declare a £1.3m property in his hometown of Leimen and hiding an €825,000 (£692,000) bank loan and 75,000 shares in a tech firm.

Anna Ermakova, 22, has now posted a message on Instagram thanking fans for their support following her father’s sentencing on Friday.

Sharing an image of the sea, she wrote: “Thank you for all the support”.

Becker was cleared of 20 other charges, including nine counts of failing to hand over trophies and medals won during his tennis career.

Becker, who has been a commentator for the BBC, appeared in the dock at London’s Southwark Crown Court wearing a grey suit and a striped tie in the Wimbledon colours of purple and green.
