Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate were recently arrested on charges of human trafficking, sexual assault and forming a criminal organization. As of Friday, the brothers have been detained for a month by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).
Following his arrest on Thursday, Tate put out this tweet:
“The Matrix sent their agents.”
Andrew Tate and his brother continue to make references to ‘The Matrix’, a popular movie franchise that deals with deprogramming and ‘breaking out of the system’. The ‘blue and red pill’ analogies are used in pop culture to denote people who are ‘asleep’ or ‘awake’ to the nature of their realities.
In the movie franchise, the keepers of the computer generated reality are the agents, played by Hugo Weaving, Robert Taylor and Paul Goddard. Agents are responsible for protecting the network from ‘red pills’ who could reveal the Matrix to be a falsely generated reality.
In the tweet above, Tate was perhaps referring to the Romanian authorities as the ‘agents’. Elon Musk recently put out a tweet about the movie franchise with a caricature of Keanu Reeves (who plays the protagonist Neo Anderson), which Tate retweeted.
Tate was banned from all social media platforms after his controversial opinions on masculinity and women. He also ran what many would call a multi-level marketing ponzi scheme called ‘Hustler’s University’ to his audience…
