Popular host and actor Annu Kapoor was recently duped of Rs 4.36 lakh by online fraudsters. The actor, has, however, been able to recover Rs 3 lakh 8 thousand with the help of the police. The cops shared that the actor was quick to approach them as well as the banks into which the money was transferred.
As per reports, an online fraudster on the pretext of getting his Know Your Customer (KYC) details updated with a leading private sector bank duped him. Timely action was taken by cops to ensure Annu Kapoor got Rs 3.08 lakh back.
Annu Kapoor himself took to social media to express gratitude, writing, “I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to Mumbai Police of Oshiwara ,cyber crime wing for their immediate and effective action taken against fraud in my bank account.”
As per a report in ETimes, the fraudster gave his name as Krishnakumar Reddy and said he was speaking from the head branch of HSBC Bank and told the complainant that KYC of his bank account was mandatory. If not done, his account would be closed.
