Resident calls police after neighbor makes inappropriate comments about her weight and wardrobe: Strongsville Police Blotter

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio

Neighborly discord, Willow Wood Drive: On Aug. 9, a Willow Wood Drive resident called police about an issue she’s having with her neighbor.

The caller said the woman made inappropriate comments about her weight and wardrobe. She would like to cut off all communication with the neighbor, who told the officer the caller was “crazy” and started a verbal argument when she was drunk.

Both parties were advised to no longer have any contact with each other if they can’t act civilly. No charges were filed.

Verbal argument, Whitney Road: On Aug. 9, police were dispatched to Whitney Road regarding a non-violent argument between a couple.

The caller said the drunk man was throwing things at her. An arriving officer was unable to find the suspect, who left the residence.

Assistance, Iyami Court: On Aug. 9, police were dispatched to an Iyami Court home after an elderly man fell down and wasn’t breathing.

An arriving officer located the senior, who was conscious and breathing. EMS took him to the hospital.

Suspicious vehicle, Hunt Road: On Aug. 9, a concerned resident called police about a GMC box truck stopped in the middle of the road.

An arriving officer located the truck’s driver, who said the vehicle wasn’t broken down. Instead, he’s a construction worker waiting for a break in traffic to start work.

Police scam, Pearl Road: On Aug. 9, a Pearl Road resident called police after she received a call from the Strongsville police department saying she was going to get arrested for fraud.

Fraud was definitely at play as the woman was being scammed by someone impersonating a police officer, who called several times asking for her personal information.

The woman suspected something was up and didn’t provide any info. The actual Strongsville officer confirmed it was a scam. There are no suspects.

Police are investigating.
