Not only is the bear market not over, but it will get much worse in 2023. This means investors need to have a long-term time horizon and invest for 2024 or have very short time horizons, such as a half hour, according to the Astrologers Fund.
“The general consensus is that markets are going lower in the first quarter of 2023 because earnings are not robust. Many think the market will end up next year where we are now, which is where the market was when Biden was elected. But we don’t,” said Henry Weingarten, managing director of the Astrologers Fund at its 2023 Global Investment Outlook last week.

Weingarten said inflation is here to stay and predicts it will remain above 5% for all 2023. This could lead to stagflation, a combination of recession and inflation. “Anyone who tells you we’re not currently in a recession is in LaLa Land,” he added.
