An issue which still irks me is Bonvoy hotels in Dhaka.
The rate on the Bonvoy App is quoted in USD. When you check out they charge you in local currency based on a USD forex which is apx 15pct higher than the quoted international forex.

The first time this happened I disputed this with Amex and they refunded me. But it continues every time I visit as it is an acknowledged practice by the local Bonvoy hotels – although never acknowledged directly by Bonvoy.
My question to Bonvoy was why they quote rates in USD which are highly misleading on the App and if these are not the rates which will be charged to credit cards why don’t they at least quote in local currency on the App. like most other countries – never got an answer.
