Theft: Eastgate Plaza
A woman, 76, reported Jan. 18 that she realized her wallet was missing from her shopping cart at Marc’s after a man asked her questions about tomatoes.
The following day, the woman reported $6,000 worth of fraudulent transactions had been made on credit cards that were in the wallet. The purchases were made at an unknown Best Buy location and the Macedonia Walmart.
The incident is under investigation.
Child enticement: Bellingham Road
A 35-year-old resident of Alcester Road was charged with two counts of child enticement Jan. 19 after he approached two Lander Elementary School students two days earlier and offered them a ride home.
The two boys, 9 and 10, said the man briefly walked with them before returning to his vehicle.
He was identified after officers reviewed surveillance video from several homes in the area and found one that captured the incident.
He told police he had gone to the school to pick up his daughter but was unaware that she stayed late that day. He said he had no bad intentions.
Theft: Mayfield Road
A Penn Station manager reported Jan. 17 that an employee stole $200 from the registers while working on separate days.
Theft charges were subsequently filed against the Bratenahl woman, 24, after she failed to show up for her following shifts.
Burglary: Chelmsford Road
A man said Jan. 14 that he arrived home around 4:30 p.m. to find his garage door open and the man door to the home broken.
