ITANAGAR, Jan 06: The All East Kameng District Students Union (AEKDSU) Saturday rubbished the statement made by Chayangtajo MLA Hayeng Mangfi that the union’s movement against him and department over the ongoing Seppa-Chayangtajo NEC road is to delay the ambitious project.
The union had filed a FIR but construction work continued and FIR against Mangfi was filed before he was elected as MLA AEKDSU President Chakang Yangda disclosed while addressing reporters here.
The statement made by the MLA against the union is nothing but to give another way to look at the issue, he added.
He said, FIR was filed against the officials of the department and the MLA on learning that the fund of Rs 3.41 crore was awarded to a firm on the direction of MLA without inviting bids for a project, Yangda said.
“If he is not involved then why was he not present when the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) visited the project site, questioned Yangda.
While appreciating the assurance given by the MLA to issue an order to the department for fresh tender, Yangda suggested for maintaining transparency and following laid down guidelines.
