GREAT BARRINGTON — The criminal case against the town’s former tax collector, who stood accused of embezzling, was dismissed following her death last month.
Deborah Ball had been accused of stealing more than $150,000 from town coffers during her time employed in the tax collection office. At the time of her death late last month after a period of illness, she was awaiting trial in Berkshire Superior Court.
