Tom Barrack testified that he tried to introduce his longtime friend Donald Trump to diplomats, world leaders and Leonardo DiCaprio during the 2016 presidential campaign to smooth over the candidate’s many “outrageous” statements.
“Confusion about your friend Donald Trump is VERY high,” Yousef Al Otaiba, the United Arab Emirates ambassador to the US, wrote in an April 2016 email that Barrack shared Tuesday in federal court in Brooklyn, New York. “The image he projects has many people extremely worried,” Otaiba further wrote.
