Duo Charged With Vehicular Trespassing, Drug Possession: Blotters

NEW TRIER TOWNSHIP, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Kenilworth, Northfield, Wilmette and Winnetka police departments and court records as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Criminal charges merely represent accusations by the state, and county prosecutors often choose to drop or reduce them. INCIDENTS

FORGERY
A Crescent Drive resident reported on Oct. 19 that someone had cashed three fraudulent checks against their bank account for a loss of $29,400.

THEFT
A resident in the 400 block of Drexel Avenue reported on Oct. 19 that someone had stolen a container with more than $12,000 of jewelry. The resident suspected that the container was taken during a move that occurred between Sept. 1 and Sept. 16, during which various moving companies were inside their home.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Sheridan Road resident reported on Oct. 20 that someone had used their identity in an attempt to open an unauthorized bank account.

FRAUD
A resident in the 700 block of Greenwood Avenue reported on Oct. 20 that they had been scammed out of more than $10,500 information by a caller who claimed to work for USAA banking and talked them into providing information needed to gain access to…
