ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a battery, a stolen wallet, a bicycle theft, a suspicious person, a gift card scam and a stolen catalytic converter, among other incidents. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Battery
- A person struck another shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday at Ed Napleton Acura, 745 W. Lake St. The officer tried to contact the suspect, but was unsuccessful. An investigation is pending.
Stolen wallet

- Someone stole a wallet from an unlocked work van between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Oct. 7 in the 700 block of South Hillside Avenue. An investigation is pending.
Bicycle theft
- An unsecured maroon Giant Escape bicycle was stolen between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Friday at York High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road. The theft was reported three days later.
Damaged car

- Someone scratched the driver’s side door of a car between 9:30 a.m. and noon Monday at Euclid and Harvard.
Suspicious person
- An employee at a business at 430 W. Fullerton Ave., told police that a person was running from inside the business shortly after midnight Tuesday. Officers checked the area, but couldn’t find the person. Surveillance video did not show anyone inside the building.
Gift card scam
- A woman at Elmhurst University, 190 S. Prospect Ave., told police that someone emailed her…
