Boyzone singer Ronan Keating has issued an urgent warning to fans after many were scammed by fake accounts.
The 45-year-old singer took to social media this week, urging followers not to give out their bank details to strangers online.
Many of the stars followers had been targeted by fake Instagram and Facebook accounts, claiming to be Ronan and attempting to scam them out of money.
Some of the alleged scammers had asked fans for money, while others falsely claimed Ronan and his wife Storm were filling for divorce.
Ronan said; ‘Hi All. If it doesn’t have a verified blue tick it’s not me on Twitter or Insta. Don’t give your bank account details or money to anyone online.’
Following the urgent warning, many fans reached out to share their own stories with Ronan, with a multitude of fans having previously encountered the scammers.
