Four people were credited to Maharashtra’s Thane for allegedly defrauding a 28 lakh man after promising to give him a loan of 2 crore, a police officer said on Monday.
The victim, a Kolsewadi resident in Kalyan, said four defendants, including a woman, took 28 lakh rupees as “processing” and “facilitation” fees but failed to arrange a loan of 2 crore, said a Wagle Estate police officer .
“After the defendant failed to arrange the loan and showed no inclination to return the money taken from him, the victim reported to the police. A fraud case has been registered, but no arrests have been made so far, he said.
