Day after Delhi L-G orders probe into AAP’s power subsidy scheme, Manish Sisodia’s ‘toll tax scam’ retort

New Delhi: A day after Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena ordered a probe into the free electricity scheme of the AAP government, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday renewed his “6,000-crore toll tax scam” charge on BJP.

In a letter to Lt Governor, Sisodia reiterated his demand for a CBI probe into alleged toll tax scam of Rs 6,000 crore in the BJP-run MCD.

This came a day after Saxena ordered a probe into the alleged irregularities in the power subsidy scheme of the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi. According to sources at the L-G office, Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar has been asked to conduct an inquiry and submit a report within a week.

“I want to draw your attention to the scam by the BJP-run MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) which caused a loss of Rs 6,000 crore to the MCD. I had requested for a CBI inquiry into the scam two months ago. I’m disappointed to see that you neither ordered a CBI probe nor responded to my letter,” Sisodia wrote in the letter, in Hindi.

“You did not pay any attention to that scam because it’s done by the BJP. With the intention of stalling the work of the elected government in Delhi, you are just busy making baseless allegations and ordering probes in fake cases every day against our government. However, all the probes ordered against the elected government in Delhi are based on fake and baseless charges,” he said.
