The BJP retaliated on Wednesday after the government’s claims regarding the construction and repair of roads in the state. Former Chief Minister Raman Singh attacked the government fiercely. He said that in 15 years, a network of 60 thousand km of roads was laid in the entire state under the rule of BJP. On the other hand, Congress also retaliated, accusing Raman Singh of lying. Congress state communication department president Sushil Anand Shukla said, there are only 32800 km of roads in the state, while they are claiming to build 60 thousand kms of roads.
He alleged that 27,200 km of roads are missing, a scam of Rs 81,600 crore was involved in its construction. In fact, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, while reviewing the PWD department, reprimanded the officers for the poor condition of the roads.
After this, Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey was seen reporting bad roads while anchoring in Bhilai. The Congress, including Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, also took a jibe at him. After this, former CM Raman Singh took the front and presented the account of the roads in front of the media.
Raman Singh said that in 15 years our government has included even remote areas in the mainstream by connecting them by road, but for Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel only one assembly constituency is his priority. They should come in front of the public and answer that how much budget they have given for the road in which assembly as compared to Patan? Are they considering Patan as the whole of Chhattisgarh? Do the tribal brothers of Bastar and Surguja not need roads?
1750 crore for the roads of Patan
Raman Singh said that from 2019 to 2022 for 12 assemblies of Bastar division and 14 assemblies of Surguja division, 1300 crores and 1700 crores were made in the budget, maintenance work and CM Sugam Sadak Yojana, but in these years only Patan Viss had made a provision of Rs. A provision of Rs 1750 crore was made for this.
