6 more set to face Forex-3D charges

Another six suspects will be summoned by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to face charges in connection with the Forex-3D Ponzi scheme case, DSI chief Traiyarit Temahiwong said yesterday.

They are the last six people in this third batch of suspects in the investigation into the multi-billion baht fraud case. They will face charges when they report to investigators on Oct 11-12, he said.

The charges are colluding in public fraud, colluding in fraudulent money borrowing and violating the Computer Crime Act, he said.

Investigators have found evidence to suggest the suspects colluded with the executives of the Forex-3D foreign exchange group, he said.

Pattanapon “DJ Man” Minthakhin and his singer-wife Suteewan “Baitoey” Thaweesin, who are key suspects in the case, have asked to postpone their second meeting with DSI investigators from tomorrow till Oct 17, said Mr Traiyarit.

Both were previously summoned to answer charges, which they did but denied any wrongdoing, he said. This time they claimed they need more time to prepare the necessary documents before their next meeting, he said.

As for actor Khunnarong “Krating” Pratherat, who has allegedly defrauded at least 14 people in the scam, the DSI still has to question two more witnesses before it can decide whether to summon the actor for questioning, said Pol Capt Wisanu Chimtrakun, director of the DSI’s Bureau of Illegal Financial Business Crime.
