Average retail gasoline prices in North Carolina decreased by 2 cents last week to $3.31 as of Monday, Sept. 26. This compares with the national average, which increased by 1 cents last week to $3.65 per gallon, according to www.northcarolinagasprices.com.
National, state debt update…
As of Monday, Sept. 26, the United States’ national debt was $30,912,743,889,540 according to www.usdebtclock.org. That debt figure breaks down to $92,769 in debt per person and $245,191 in debt per taxpayer. Also as of Monday, Sept. 26, North Carolina’s state debt was $51,974,610,117, which breaks down to $5,008 in debt per citizen.
State unemployment and food stamp update…
As of Monday, Sept. 26, 189,392 state residents were registered as unemployed, according to www.usdebtclock.org, and 1,810,089 North Carolinians were registered as food stamp recipients out of a total state population of 10,342,723.
