40,000 Spaniards would have suffered the marijuana scam

In the last hours there has been a lot of commotion around the “marijuana scam”. Customers of a company called Juicy Fields, based in Germany, claim to have been scammed by it. The company promised returns of up to 65% to those who invest in the cultivation of marijuana for medicinal use, but it disappeared overnight. In between, many clients have lost significant sums of money. It is estimated that in Spain alone there could be more than 40,000 victims.

As reported The world, Juicy Fields allowed interested parties to make investments to grow marijuana for medicinal use in countries where it is allowed to do so. Based on minimum investments of 50 euros per plant, the company promised that customers would receive a percentage of sales, depending on the production achieved. It went from 35 to 65%.

But things turned ugly when, overnight, the company disappeared and users lost access to their accounts. It was on July 11, when what is now known as the “marijuana scam” began to take shape.

Alarm bells went off when Juicy Fields sent an email to investors informing them that the company was affected by a strike. Without giving further details, the existence of apparent differences between workers and managers was mentioned. Just two days later, on July 13, users they lost access to their accounts.
