BENGALURU: R Ravichandran took charge as principal chief commissioner of income tax, Karnataka and Goa, on Monday. A 1987 batch IRS officer, Ravichandran worked across the country in the fields of assessment, investigation, TDS, administration and training.
He handled several sensitive investigation cases, including the IPO scam and that of penny stock manipulation.
He was instrumental in setting up the first airport intelligence unit of the
income tax department and Sebi’s Integrated Market Surveillance Systems project.
