The National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA) and the City of Ekurhuleni have warned motorists of an online scam targeting drivers who have lost their drivers licenses.
Through a statement, NTSA flagged a page known as NTSA Online Cyber, which has been allegedly defrauding motorists by purporting to offer services to them.
The flagged page has all the details similar to those of NTSA including numbers that do not match with those listed on the road safety authority websites.
Residents are urged not to respond to these false advertisements.
The city’s processes for applying for a driving license have not changed, and remain as follows:
How do make a booking for a learner’s license?
• Go to https://online.natis.gov.za to make a booking
• Register your profile
• Make a booking to a Driving License Testing Centre (DLTC) where you would like to be tested
• You must pay for your pre-booking at the testing station at which the pre-booking was made.
• The payment must be made within 3 days from making the pre-booking.
• You can do the eye test on the day of the payment at the DLTC or; go to a recognised eye specialist where a certificate will be issued.
• If the date and time (booking) you prefer is not available, it could be that it has been already allocated as the system is live or the testing station is fully booked for the date and time you prefer. You can either wait until booking time slots become available or try a different testing station.
