Crown and defence lawyers appeared briefly in Calgary Court of Queen’s Bench to schedule a half-day hearing for sentencing submissions on Aug. 17.

Crown prosecutor Brian Holtby told Justice Earl Wilson that his fellow Queen’s Bench judge, Justice Colin Feasby, who convicted the Calgary septuagenarian last month in a massive mortgage fraud, is seized with Breitkreutz’s sentencing.

Wilson ordered that custodial officials bring Breitkreutz to court on that day to face his sentencing hearing.
