New Hampshire Man Hilariously Trolls Text Message Scammer

Without a doubt, we’ve all run into this scenario way too often before where an unknown number calls our cell phone number and either mentions trying to reach us about our car’s extended warranty or mentions how they’re with the IRS, we’ve committed tax fraud and will be sentenced to jail if we don’t send them $1,000 worth of gift cards.

And generally the conversation doesn’t even get that far because who even picks up a number that’s not saved to their phone these days, anyway?

That said, scammers have tried to get smarter with how they operate and try to rock their phishing scams and are now sending text messages to try and trick us into either clicking on something where they can swipe our personal info, or just straight up asking for money. And they do it in some wonky ways lately, too. For example, what recently happened to a Nashua, New Hampshire man.

Pretending to text the wrong number

The random afternoon text that Sopee Preap received seemed to be meant for a girl/woman named Liliana, who the texter messaged mentioning she lost her earring in Liliana’s car. Seemed innocent enough, which is why Sopee’s response was the usual, “Hey, think you have the wrong number.”
