With increasing instances of phishing and other online scams, it is advisable to practice caution and stay aware. Zerodha’s founder Nithin Kamath’s team members got messages from fake accounts claiming that Kamath was in urgent need of money. Kamath took to his LinkedIn to share his thoughts on how to battle phishing frauds and stay safe online.
Kamath began his post by highlighting the rapid rise in the cases of phishing attacks and how one can protect themselves. He said that the best defence in such a scenario was to not trust anyone who was asking for money or offering deals that were too good to be true. The Zerodha founder later went on to enumerate the kinds of frauds that came across in recent times.
“The number of phishing frauds has gone through the roof, and everybody is being targeted. The only way to protect yourself is to not trust anybody asking for money or offering something that seems too good to be true. Here are a few types of frauds I have come across recently,” said Kamath in his post.
