School Harassed, Scammers Charged: Elmhurst Cops

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving harassing emails to a school, scam suspects, trespassing at a gas station, DUI, a stolen ring and a theft at a gym. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Harassing emails

  • Timothy Christian Schools, 1051 S. Prospect Ave., told police that a former student sent numerous harassing emails on Monday and Tuesday. An investigation is pending.

Scam suspects

  • Helen Miller, 51; Sheila Miller, 47; and Alex Miller, 26, all of Rolling Meadows, were cited about 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of West Lake on illegal transient merchant violations. According to a police report, a victim said he was approached by the suspects, who offered to do concrete painting and repaving for the victim’s business. They were known to be involved in traveler scams. They were given a no-trespass notice and released on bond.

Trespassing

  • Latrell King, 30, of Westmont, was arrested at 5 a.m. Tuesday at Shell gas station, 218 E. Butterfield, on a charge of trespassing. According to a police report, officers received a report of a suspicious person, identified as King inside Shell. Officers served King with a trespass notice. King returned moments later in violation of the notice. He was released on bond.
