Communications fraud: Herold Road
A woman reported April 12 that her boyfriend was requesting she send $5,000 because he was being held captive by another man who was supposed to drive him to her house. She was told that her boyfriend would be killed if she did not send the money.
The woman had already sent $500 before reporting the matter. She said she had not met her boyfriend in person and wasn’t even sure where he lived. She had been dating him for two months since meeting him online.
Officers advised her it was a scam and told her to block the phone number and not send any more money.
Domestic violence: West Anderson Road
A Cleveland man, 26, was arrested April 15 after an incident involving the mother of his child. During the altercation, he also jumped on the woman’s vehicle causing a large dent.
Harassing communication: Charlton Road
A woman, 18, reported April 14 that she was receiving harassing communication from the current girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend.
Officers learned she and the other woman were both arguing over the man and most of the conversation occurred while she was in college in Toledo. She was advised to follow up with police in that city if she wanted to pursue the matter.
Theft from vehicle: Warrensville Center Road
A man reported April 15 that he believed the license plate was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at Walmart. He said his vehicle was not parked in view of security cameras.
